Composition

Under the flashy lights of a stage, sometimes it looks like musicians must all see themselves as performers.

Personally, though, I see myself primarily as a songwriter or composer who happens to make recordings and play shows sometimes on the side.

Passion and Vanity

Iron Kitten is a new project between TT Cameron and myself as of December 2018. The details of the project can typically be found on ironkittenmusic.com and elsewhere. Here I will just say that I believe our album “Passion and Vanity” to be my best example of composition, as I made a conscious effort to ensure each song captured the appropriate style or genre rather than sticking with a rigid or preconceived notion of style I have often had in mind for other projects. Still, it demonstrates my primary ideas as they pertain to the use of metalcore-influenced guitar work, symphonic metal-influenced orchestral sections, and unexpected, randomly catchy hooks. My hope is that it will stand the test of time as authoritative documentation of what really goes on inside my head.
